The Strength and Prosperity of the Righteous

You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. My eyes have seen the downfall of my enemies, and my ears have heard the end of the wicked who rose against me. The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree and grow tall like a cedar in Lebanon. Planted firmly in the house of the Lord, they shall blossom in the courts of our God. Even in old age, they will still produce fruit; they shall remain vital and green. This serves to proclaim that the Lord is upright. He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Le prophète Osée a lancé un avertissement sévère au Royaume du Nord d'Israël : « Mon peuple est détruit parce qu'il lui manque la connaissance » (Osée 4:6). Cette destruction ne découlait pas d'une ignorance profane, mais d'une infidélité spirituelle — une vie d'« adultère spirituel » illustrée par leur adoration de faux dieux. Dieu ordonna à Osée d'épouser une prostituée infidèle ; un message symbolique puissant destiné à souligner cette vérité. Sa mission consistait à avertir le peuple qu'il faisait face à une destruction imminente de la part des Assyriens, faute de posséder la connaissance spirituelle vitale concernant sa véritable relation avec Dieu.
