A Plea for Justice and Divine Guidance Hear my sincere prayer, O LORD, and heed my cry for righteousness, which comes from an honest heart. Vindicate me, Yourself; let Your gaze fall upon what is just. You have tested my spirit and examined me in the deepest night, finding no wickedness after Your scrutiny. I am determined that my mouth will not speak sinful words. Unlike the violent ways of others, I have kept myself from their destructive paths by following Your commands. My feet have been held firmly to Your way, and my steps have not slipped. O God, I call upon You with confidence, knowing You will answer. Hear my words and listen to my prayer. Show me the wonders of Your unfailing love. With Your powerful right hand, You rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. Guard me closely, like the precious pupil of Your eye. Hide me under the cover of Your wings from the wicked, the deadly foes who encircle me. Their speech is hard and arrogant. They have tracked me down and are now closing in, ready to throw me to the ground, like a ravenous lion eager to tear its prey, like a young lion lurking in ambush. Arise, O LORD! Confront them and cast them down! Deliver me from the wicked with Your sword—from those whose only reward is in this life. May You richly bless and satisfy Your cherished people and their children, enabling them to pass on their prosperity to the next generation.
