The Church belongs to Christ, the Messiah, Son of the Living God

The Church Belongs to Christ, the Messiah, Son of the Living God The house of God, which is the Church of the living God, is the pillar and the support of the truth. 1 Timothy 3:15 Jesus calls it "my Church" (Matthew 16:18), the one for which he gave his life on the cross. This right of ownership, paid at such a price, immediately excludes the claim of men to want to build their own Church. The Church belongs to Christ, and it is he who builds her up. When Jesus arrived in the area of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples: “Who do people think is the Son of Man? They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets. "But you?" He asked. "Who do you say I am?" » Simon Peter replied, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. » Jesus answered, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for it was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father who is in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock, I will build my Church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. From that moment Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he should go to Jerusalem and suffer much at the hands of the elders, the chief priests, and the doctors of the law and that he should be killed and on the third day be raised to life. Pierre took him aside and began to reprimand him. “Never, Lord! " he said. "This will never happen to you!" Jesus turned around and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have God's concerns in mind, but only human concerns. Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses it for my sake will find it. What's the use of someone gaining the whole world, but losing their soul? Or what can you give in exchange for your soul? For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to each according to what he has done. "Truly I tell you, some of those who stand here will not taste death until they see the Son of man coming into his kingdom." Hallelujah. It is the word of God.
