Time rounds the times

Again I saw all the oppressions that are done under the sun. And behold, the tears of the oppressed, and they had no one to comfort them! On the side of their oppressors there was power, and there was no one to comfort them. And I saw something else under the sun: In the place of judgment--wickedness was there, in the place of justice--wickedness was there. If you see the poor oppressed in a district, and justice and rights denied, do not be surprised at such things; for one official is eyed by a higher one, and over them both are others higher still. Extortion turns a wise person into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart. All this I saw, as I applied my mind to everything done under the sun. There is a time when a man lords it over others to his own hurt. No one will offer food to comfort those who mourn for the dead--not even for a father or a mother--nor will anyone give them a drink to console them "People cry out under a load of oppression; they plead for relief from the arm of the powerful.
