Those who seek to increase their personal fortune by exploiting the poor, or who direct their generosity solely toward those who are already rich, are on a path that inevitably leads to their own destitution. Such practices violate the moral fabric of society. Therefore, a profound ethical obligation is placed upon all: "Do not rob the poor because they are destitute, and do not oppress the needy in the congregation." The inherent vulnerability of the poor should be a shield protecting them from exploitation...
