Hidden sin produces sadness, but sincere repentance gives peace of heart.
Do good, live well
Whoever is pregnant with evil conceives trouble and gives birth to disillusionment. Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their heads. I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
Boast not to yourself
Stop boasting to avoid punishment from the Lord! Why do you boast of an evil, mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the sight of God? You who practice deception, your tongue plots destruction; it's like a sharp razor. You like evil rather than good, lying rather than telling the truth. You love every harmful word, deceptive tongue! Surely God will cast you down into eternal ruin: He will take you up and tear you from your tent; he will snatch you from the land of the living. The righteous will see and fear; they will laugh at you saying: "Nowhere is the man who did not make God his fortress, but trusted in his great wealth and grew stronger by destroying others!" But I am like an olive tree that blossoms in the house of God; I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever.
